This is a spot we noticed along the new highway just across from the weigh scales on the new highway between the Hanwel Road and Mazzerole Settlement Road heading towards Fredericton.
From the Hanwell Road, head out the Mazerrole Settltment Road. Turn right at the onramp to the new highway and look for the weigh scales on the opposite side of the highway. We park at the end of gaurdrail just across from the scales then make our way into the beaver pond. When you park, look for the leaning apple tree at the forest edge and go in from there.
This awesome beaverpond empties into a brook that runs through a meadow that just looks like a field of grass, but there is a gem running through it. Pictures of the meadow to follow.
This is just one example of a once remote piece of nature brought within reach by the new highway. Lets hope our furry friends adjust well.
Nice spot, close to Fredericton where you can just relax. Looking across from here there is an old road that I didnt follow to the end . I
suspect that it's the original way to get here before the highway.
I've noticed that too when travelling east towards Fredericton. Would it be crown land?
